Kenwood KDC-BT44U Review - easy to access features

Review and Buying Guide of Kenwood KDC-BT44U Review - easy to access features

Easy seems, quick to accessibility options, superior price. I've not experienced a one kenwood failure in above a 10 years so i see no reason why this unit will never give a long time of company. Two ideas: ditch the cd drive for sd card slot and enable the device to electricity on without the ignition for an hour.

I have just put in this in a 2006 micra, in get to use the steering wheel controls i used the extra pieces/connectors1. Autoleads pc99-x70 (nissan particular). Autoleads pc99-ken-dis patch guide.

Iso to din aerial connector ( purchase the short cable kind as the nissan aerial cable won't have enough slack). Male bullet connector for steering wheel management wire. If you are putting in in a micra, this web site has a very good image guide to receiving the outdated stereo outmicrak12the down below web web page is superior for very clear instructions with regards to plugging in the steering wheel controls[.

It depends if you have steering wheel controls or not? If you do then you will need the appropriate adaptor harness, check on Car Audio Security website or ring them, they are quite helpful. Other than the harness you may also need an ISO adaptor for your aerial, you can get one from most car spares shops cheaply enough.

Conclusion of Kenwood KDC-BT44U BT/USB/CD Car Receiver

I have just put in this in a 2006 micra, in buy to use the steering wheel controls i utilised the extra pieces/connectors1. Autoleads pc99-x70 (nissan unique). Autoleads pc99-ken-dis patch direct. Iso to din aerial connector ( buy the short cable form as the nissan aerial cable isn't going to have plenty of slack). Male bullet connector for steering wheel command wire. If you are installing in a micra, this web site has a good picture guidebook to acquiring the previous stereo outmicrak12the below world-wide-web web page is superior for very clear guidance about plugging in the steering wheel controls[.as to the actual stereo once in the car and working you will need to go through the various functions, store fm stations, set display colour, set time etc.

The menu is quite easy to use and is all done using the volume button. The set display colours (all 24 of them) are quite dim, even with the dimmer set on the highest setting. I have found it best to create your own colour, that way you can get the display bright enough to see clearly in bright daylight. Bluetooth works well with an iphone 5, voice dialling works as well as siri will let it.Music streaming works well from the iphone, itunes music, spotify etc all stream no problem.

Download the aha radio app on your phone and you can the use the aha source mode on the unit, with iphones the aha function only works if you connect your iphone via usb (front or rear usb), that way you can use the steering wheel controls to navigate the app. You can stream the aha app via bluetooth instead but you have to use the iphone screen to navigate. I haven't had a chance to play with all the equalizer settings etc, but there seem to be loads to keep the keenest audiophile amused. This head unit is a vast improvement in sound quality over the nissan unit and i am pleased with how it looks in the car. There was no case to put the facia in when you remove it from the car, i had an old one but it would have been nice if kenwood had provided one in the box.

I would have given it 5* if the display colours were brighter and the aha app working without having to connect via usb and a facia case had been provided (probably being a bit harsh). Great piece of kit, very easy to pair with bt and all the other inputs and sounds 100times bette than old one that came with my van, just remember if vw/audi to swap the red and yellow power cables on the wiring harness that comes with the cd player or you need to keep selecting the language and demo with was a pain until i looked it up. Would defently recommend this cd player and this is cheapest place to get one as they used to retail at £189. Looks great and easy to use.

Simple looks, easy to access features, good price. I've not had a single kenwood failure in over a decade so i see no reason why this unit won't give years of service.

Two thoughts: ditch the cd drive for sd card slot and enable the unit to power on without the ignition for an hour.
